Market and strategy risk

Liquidity and leverage

Some positions cannot be sold quickly without a price concession. Where leverage is used, losses can exceed the amount originally committed. Any leverage, funding cost or redemption restriction will be disclosed in the offering documents before it applies.

Custody and counterparty risk

Assets held by a custodian, exchange, broker or bank may be lost or frozen if that party fails, is hacked or becomes insolvent. Deposits are not insured unless a specific, verified scheme applies, and no such claim is made on this site.

Property risk

Property prices, rental income, occupancy, maintenance, taxes and local law can change. Real estate may be difficult to sell quickly. Listing details are supplied by owners or agents and should be confirmed independently.

Operational and legal risk

Technology, cyber security, payment processing, fraud, and changes in the law of the jurisdictions we serve can all cause loss or delay. Diversification does not eliminate risk.
